CHICKPEAS
Smooth chickpeas “Sultano” variety

The whole chickpea comes from about 2 hectares of land sown with an ancient variety called sultana, formerly used to make chickpea flour given the tenacity and compactness of the fruit.
The “Sultan” smooth chickpea is a cultivar of the “cicer arietinum”, an annual herbaceous plant of the legume family native to the Middle East and cultivated since time immemorial throughout the Mediterranean basin.
Important for their high nutritional value, this variety has a thin skin which allows it to be among the most digestible varieties of legumes.
